My issues with the cable installer have only been the first step. Luckily, I've got the tenacity of a bulldog when it comes to my television. I've got a lot more to tell, but their attornies in Philadelphia are still approving my resolution. I should know more next week. In the meantime, at least they turned my cable back on. It sucks that the cable companies have to play hardball, but after watching them fight with TiVo for the last 6 years, I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised. Thankfully, the bloop bloop noise is like Xanax for the soul after having dealt with a Motorola piece of crap for two years.

Ah, the pain of being an early adopter of a technology that reduces profits for a huge institution.

I don't know what is more chilling: my institutional problems with Charter, or your tale of the Comcast guy who is talking people out of the cable cards because he doesn't want to be bothered.

At least my cable installer had already done an install. The first time I dealt with Charter -- 5 years ago -- they didn't even know what a ReplayTV was, so I had to wait until the guy left to do it myself.

And you're right -- my nerves are a lot lot better these days!
