The complaint mobs are definetely counter productive, but I don't see them going away. Digg is only getting bigger and their users are already drunk off of their power. They've used bandwidth vampires, crank calls, dos attacks, a rebellion, anything that they can think of. The complaint letters would only really work against certain types of businesses and even then, you'd need to make it look more legitimate. Random rantings probably wouldn't be all that effective anyway. Still, we have seen groups try and get shows fined by writing letters to the FCC and people write to their congress people all of the time.

It is a really wordy complaint.

I think of most companies being a little like me. ADD. I would have tuned out three sentences in.

Also - the complaint mobs seem pretty counter productive to me.

It is like yelling at your kid all the time. The kid doesn't know which things are important. Anything that causes a company to not focus on important issues is a problem for me.

This is starting to get scary. Not only do I really believe that people can solve all of their problems by giving me money ;) but I also love Vampire films! If I did get a letter with this kind of info in it, I would be paranoid about how someone I didn't know, had so much background on me.

I put in your name too and discovered you're a bloodsucker. Stay away, Vampire!

As the oft-repeated saying goes, "It is in Davis's nature to be a deceiver and a destroyer and a bloodsucker".
