Jack Bauer and Cloe are still the best in this film. they did great. The big question now is , what now happens to jack now that he's been re-arrested from African back to LA ? I need to know here in Nigeria.

One last comment. It's time to get them OUT of L.A. How about Jack solving a mystery in Brazil, or the UAE ... It's time to give CTU a break for a Season or Two ... its getting REALLY, REALLY old.

But, wherever Jack goes, he needs to bring Cloe along. Jack and Cloe are still the best parts of 24.

Dave ... you can't pick and choose your seasons. You need to watch them in order. There were a couple that were better than the rest but I honestly forget which is which. My suggestion is to start at Season 2 (since you watched Season 1 already) and keep watching until you are no longer entertained. As per my prior comment, I think Season 6 will be my last ... but I may very well follow Davis' lead and record the entire season next year and watch it back to back instead of in increments. That may make it better.

Ha! That's how I watched Season 1, well not on TiVo but off a DVD. Since then I've been watching on TiVo. But this last season is likely my last as it was such a let down. Perhaps watching even Season 6 back to back may have saved it. I don't know.

I do know I'm about to add an external eSATA drive to my S3 (as soon as my MX-1 case arrives next week), so I'll proably start doing the same thing with marginal shows like Hell's Kitchen, Amazing Race etc. I'd rather watch them back to back then wait a week in between.

But, one things for sure, large drives sure change the PVR paradigm.

I'm not going to watch them all, so you need to tell me which is the best. A buddy from my old job watched all the Stargate and then Stargate Atlantis episodes over a few weeks - sounded draining. So I'm going for quality, not quantity.

You should go back to season 2 and start getting caught up. The first season will always be my favorite, but the other ones are good too. The writers do a good job of creating a comprehensive storyline that carries over from season to season.

This is similar to how I watch most television, except I do it via Netflix (a year after the fact) - no hard drive issues, zero commercials, and I can crank out a season efficiently. Though not quite as crazy as this! :)

I haven't watched 24 since the first season. I'm looking for Netflix fodder - which season should I rent?

I was glad that there was no surprise too. Last season they left a surprise and didn't deliver. We are better off with them starting with a clean slate next season. Hopefully, the writers will do a better job. Even still, 24 on a bad night is better than most TV on good nights. I'm not sure why seeing a guy's kneecap pulverized is so entertaining, but Fox has a winning formula, they just need to clean up the writing a little.

Wow. Davis, that was a kick-ass post. Glad to see that you enjoyed the season - it was pretty up and down for me. I'm glad there was no surprise at the last minute, but this whole Audrey-Chinese-Jack's Dad plotline was definitely out of left field (at least from where the day was).

Well I didn't quite make it through the whole 24 hours. Towards the end, things started to seem like a blur, I went back and rewatched those episodes to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Avoiding spoilers was tough all season. At one point I heard about the president or ex-president's life being in danger, but as soon as I saw the headline, I clicked away. In retrospect, I'm surprised that the nuclear bomb coverage didn't show up in my radar, that seemed like it would have been controversial.

I did hear that people were disappointed with this season, but I didn't think it was bad. It wasn't as good as past seasons, but we've seen worse ones too. My biggest complaint was that the motivations for doing things seemed weak. I also didn't like that they didn't show what happened in China. I wanted to see Jack break out of a Chinese prison and coordinate things from there.

It was a good way to see the season, but I am going to take longer next time. It was too much of a rush in too short of a period. I think 6 weeks is about perfect for streching out the tension, but not killing it with too many interruptions.

I run the bauercount website thanks for the link! I wasn't the largest fan of this season but I think I may like it more on DVD you really do watch it the best way. Where you able to avoid spoilers? Did you have any ideas storyline wise prior to your non-stop viewing? Running the bauercount site early I got lots of spoilers from "fans" thinking they were doing a service (curtis getting shot was ruined ect...) thus I think the best episodes (the first four) were kinda dimmed for me.

Regardless I wish I could watch this way but normally I buy the DVD's and watch them really quickly to see if I get anything extra. I liked season 5 a lot more on DVD after rewatching it. Good writeup!

We watched the first season of 24 this way. It is a great way to watch this series, but it made it really difficult to have patience for the next episode each week when we began watching real time.

I'm not recording new series for an entire season before I watch them (Heroes is an exception to this rule) so that I know whether the network will keep the show around or not.
