Such a shame that their couldn't cultivate more out of their partnerships. Even our old v2.0 single-tuner TiVo had exponentially-greater smarts than what we're using now. But we simply couldn't justify the expense at the time when we were ready to make the move to high def. Our cable co's Motorola DVR box is a pale comparison, but it's an essentially free dual-tuner, HD DVR. At the time, making the move to a comparable TiVo would've cost roughly $600, plus the expense of renting 2 CableCards, along with the continued monthly TiVo subscription. We sorely miss our TiVo!!

I've long since upgraded and lost any history going that far back. Stand Alone Series 1 -> Series 2 DirecTV -> Series 2 HD DirecTV -> Stand Alone TiVo HD.
