		<description>That&#039;s a fair point, but not such a big problem to overcome.  The DivX codec itself is small enough that they could easily bundle it with the movie.  That way if someone didn&#039;t have it, they could install it without even downloading it.</description>

		<description>I like DivX myself, works well, codec is easily installed though lately it comes with a bunch of other crap.  Supported by various portable DVD players, etc.

However, unless support for it is installed with the OS, vast swaths of computer users won&#039;t know what the hell to do with it.  My father for example couldn&#039;t figure out how to get a DivX file I&#039;d sent him to play on his PC.  Had to walk him through it.  Which I suspect is true of a lot of computer users, probably most.

With Windows 7 we&#039;ve finally got support for h.264 built in to the OS.  If Apple does the same that becomes a viable solution if there&#039;s a common wrapper both support...</description>
